Obituary of William Sneddon

A memorial service for William D. Sneddon , age 93, of Olla will be held 1 pm Saturday April 27, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Olla, with Bro. Willie A. Hart officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday April 27, from 12:30pm until time of service at the Kingdom Hall. William Downy Sneddon was born on July 3,1919 in Glasgow, Scotland to the union of his parents William and Elizabeth Sneddon. He passed from this life on Wednesday April 17, 2013 at the Jena Nursing Rehabilitation Center in Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a daughter, Ellen Sneddon and his sister Betty Lacy. Bro. Sneddon was a member of the Olla Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. His heart was in the ministry of helping those in prisons. He conducted Bible Studies in prisons in New York State and Clarks, LA. He loved his God and witnessed to anyone who would take the time to listen. He assisted several people in coming to a dedicated relationship with his God Jehovah. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and will be sorely missed. Survivors include: His beloved wife, Marie DeSoto Sneddon of Olla, three sons: Robert Sneddon (Linda) of Oxford, New York, Wayne DeSoto (Julie) of Marksville,and Douglas DeSoto (Jacqie) of Cottonport,three daughters: Beth Bligh, of Tampa, Florida; Edie McClary (Ralph) of Kelly,and Janice Martinez (Donald) of Kelly, his brother Max Sneddon (Carol) of Grand Junction, Colorado; his sister Margaret Colano, of Los Angeles, CA, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
