Obituary of Joe "Papa" O'Neal

Funeral services for Joe "Papa" O'Neal, age 75 of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, April 26, 2013 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Joe was born August 31, 1937 to Wilmer James and Irene Brazier O'Neal in Rayville and he passed from this life on April 17, 2013 at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday. He served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. He was a professional truck driver and he loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his wife: Marilyn D. O'Neal; his parents; brother: Travis O'Neal; two sisters: Carolyn Gray and Debbie O'Neal. Survivors include his son: Joey O'Neal and his wife Kotye of Kelly; brother: Henry O'Neal of Calhoun; sister: Pat Downing of Calhoun; grandchildren: Brandon Bennett, Phynix O'Neal, and Tabitha O'Neal.
