Obituary of Soledad "Lisa" Knighten

Funeral services for Mrs. Soledad "Lisa" Escobar Knighten, age 65 of Olla,LA will be held at 10 AM Friday, May 24, 2013 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla, LA with Father James Nellikunnel officiating. Interment will follow at Olla Cemetery in Olla, LA. Visitation will be Thursday, May 23, 2013 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Olla, LA. Mrs. Knighten was born in Samar, Philippines on September 16, 1947 to the union of Ramon and Segunda Bardaje Escobar and passed from this life on May 19, 2013 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA. She had a green thumb and enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Mrs. Knighten was member of St. Williams Catholic Church in Olla, LA and attended services at St. John's Catholic Church in Columbia, LA. She was also a member of the Gold Star Mothers. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Floyd G. Knighten, Jr. and her brother, Jesus Escobar. Survivors include her two sons: Floyd G. Knighten, III and wife, Jessica of Monroe, LA and Narciso Escobar; brother, Aurelio Escobar; two sisters: Lilia Escobar and Lydia Escobar all of San Miguel Bulacon, Philippines and her grandson, Aidan Caraway of Monroe, LA. Pallbearers will be Charles K. Walters, Charles R. Walters, Ray Lynn Coolman, Eddie Coolman, Christopher Moses and Glynn Hardy. Honorary pallbearer will be Jesse Greer.
