Obituary of Sr. Fore

Funeral services for Troy Albert Fore, Sr., age 81 of Columbia, LA will be held at 5 PM, Sunday, June 30, 2013 from the sanctuary of Columbia Heights Baptist Church in Grayson, LA with Rev. Julius Russell delivering the eulogy and Rev. Warren Maxwell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Rose Cemetery in Grayson, LA. Visitation will be at Columbia Heights Baptist Church Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 3 PM until time of service at 5 PM. Mr. Fore was born in Grayson, LA on March 28, 1932 to the union of his parents; Robert Lee and Sally Maude Douglas Fore and went to be with his beloved Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, LA. He served four years with the US Army. His hobbies included: fishing, hunting, music and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Ralph Fore and Roy Fore. Survivors include his wife, Doty Fore of Columbia; son, Troy Fore, Jr. and wife, Dana of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter, Becky Griffin and husband, David of Dallas, TX; three sisters: Alma Bauman, Mary Ann Fore and Martha Sue Shell; five grandchildren: Troy Fore, III, India Fore, Lindsay Craig, Jeffrey Griffin and Byron Griffin and great-grandchild, Charlotte Craig. Pallbearers will be Ryan Craig, Jeffrey Griffin, Byron Griffin, David Griffin, Troy Fore, III, Adam Shell and Lee Fore. Troy loved the Lord with all his heart and was a devoted Christian. He was an active member of his church, Columbia Heights Baptist Church, where he held many positions including: deacon, visitation leader, choir member, substitute Sunday school teacher, leader on the Baptism and Lord Supper Committee, Discipleship Training Leader for new Christians, jail ministry and was a Gideon. He never met a stranger and loved sharing the word of the Lord with people. To know Troy was to love him.
