Obituary of Shirley Brown Humphries

Funeral services for Shirley Brown Humphries, age 57 of Olla, LA will be held at 10 AM Friday, August 2, 2013 at Standard Baptist Church in Olla with Bro. Shad Tibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Beech Creek Cemetery in Olla. Visitation will be Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Humphries was born on July 6, 1956 in Urania, LA to the union of the late Jack and Lois Meeks Brown and passed from this life on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her residence. She loved to write songs and played multiple instruments including, the guitar, piano, banjo and accordion. She was a hard worker that enjoyed deer hunting and was an outstanding marksman with a bow. Mrs. Humphries loved her family and was very family oriented. She is survived by her three children: Shannon Cruse and wife, Tammy of Olla, Shelly Jones of Lafayette and Shay Cruse of Baton Rouge; three brothers: Mickey Brown and wife, Sheila of New Iberia, Sherman Brown and wife, Sonya of Alexandria and Bobby Brown and wife, Shell of Columbia, sister, Sondra Davis and husband, Dalton of Columbia; five grandchildren: Michael Gonzales, Trevor Cruse, Tanner Jones, Keylie Cruse and Savannah Cruse and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Tanner Jones, Michael Gonzales, Trevor Cruse, Dylan Blackwell, Hunter Davis, Justin Lagman, Jordan Humphries and Zackery Boudreaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherman Jack Brown, Jr., Shawn Brown and Hunter Brown.
