Obituary of Alma Head

Funeral services for Alma Lee Head, age 69, of Columbia, will be held at 11 AM Saturday April 9, 2011 at the Palestine Baptist Church in Vixen with Bro. Frank Shields, Bro. Charles Lutrick, and Bro. Wallace Ingles officiating. Services are under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5PM until service time Saturday morning at the church. Alma Lee was born November 19, 1941 to Ellie and Pauline Hargrove Waggoner in Columbia and she passed from this life on April 6, 2011 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. She was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. She loved to sing and cook. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 40 years: J.R. Head; two daughters: Mary Ellen Spangler and her husband Marty of Columbia; Paula Womack and her husband Keith of Columbia; two sisters: Jeanette Purvis and her husband Harold Ray; Lela Mae Baugh and her husband Lemiel; grandchildren: Colton, Caden, and Caleb Spangler, and Mallory, Emilee, Zachary, and Ethan Womack. Pallbearers will be Dewayne Purvis, Randy Purvis, Donnie DeLancey, Mike Hargrove, Eddie Steele, Danny Waggoner, Stephen Baugh, and Mark Hargrove.
