Obituary of Tommy Sikes

Funeral services for Tommy Gerald Sikes age 53 of Holum, LA will be held 2:00 PM Sunday September 1, 2013 from the sanctuary of Standard Baptist Church with Rev. Shadd Tibbs and Rev. Benny Bratton officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Star Cemetery at Holum under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Saturday evening August 31, 2013 at the Riser Funeral Home in Columbia from 4:00 PM until 9 PM, and on Sunday Sept. 1, 2013 at the Standard Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until time of service. Tommy Gerald Sikes was born on November 16, 1959 at Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Willie Mae (Cooper) Sikes and John Will Sikes Sr. He passed from this life on Thursday August 29, 2013 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. Tommy was preceded in death by his father and by a step sister Pattie Hudson. He was a truck driver. Survivors include three sons: Shannon Sikes and his wife Nikki of Georgetown; Shawn Sikes and his wife Alysha of Grayson; and Hunter Alford of Grayson; two daughters: Nikki Johnson and her husband Dale of Georgetown; Cassidy Sikes and her fiancee Madison Green of Grayson; his mother: Willie Mae Nugent and step father Delton Nugent of Grayson; his brothers: John Wesley Sikes, Jr. and wife Cathy of Clarks; Michael Sikes and his wife Gay of West Monroe; Dennis Sikes of Grayson; and Lee Sikes and his companion Kim Denison of Columbia; his sisters, Betty May and husband Jimmy of Columbia; Faye Fatheree and her companion Tino Gonzalez of Grayson; and Janice Sones and husband Jeff of Grayson; eight grandchildren: Veronica Bennett, Breanna Sikes, Paige Carreno, Makayla Campbell, Ariana Sikes, Adison Green, Hailey Sikes, and Corbin Sikes; and a great-grandson Brantley Sikes.
