Obituary of Katie Mobley
Katie McClary Mobley, 96 of Bastrop, LA, formerly a lifelong resident of Caldwell Parish, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013, at Morehouse Hospital, Bastrop, LA.
Born on August 24, 1917 in Grayson, LA. She was the daughter of Morgan and Loula Hester McClary. She married Wade W. Mobley in 1941. They had two daughters, Gloria Mobley Guillory and Karen Mobley Stuart Vining. They resided in Alexandria, LA for most of their marriage and she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alexandria. She returned to reside in Caldwell Parish in 1962 where she remained for many years. She attended Cross Roads Baptist Church in Grayson, LA.
Katie is preceded in death by her grandson, Gary Wayne Guillory, great-granddaughter Katelyn Elizabeth Guillory, Brothers; Wiley Nathan McClary and wife Lillian, Calvin Snouden McClary and wife Idell, Cecil F. McClary and wife Kay, Mogin Fluitt McClary, Edward Lawrence McClary and wife Betty and Robert Lee and Roberta Pearl McClary who both passed away before the age of two.
She is survived by her daughters, Karen Stuart Vining of Monroe, LA, Gloria Guillory and husband Bobbie E. Guillory of Harvey, LA . Grandchildren; Robert and Loretta Guillory, Michael and Kelly Guillory, Heike Guillory, Leslie Witcher, Connie Stuart, Tammy and Bill Shaw, Bryan Vining, Randy and Kelly Vining, Megan and Damian Ortolano, 19 great grandchildren. Nieces and Nephews and well as great nieces and nephews, many friends and relatives.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Mobley, Waymon McClary, Russell McClary, Wiley McClary, Eugene Dunn and Gary Stuart.
Honorary pallbearers are Shelby McManus and Johnny Hester.
Services will be held at Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia, LA, visitation will be held Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M., funeral service will be held in the chapel at Riser & Son on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Tommy Nelson will be officiating.
A special thanks to LeGrande Nursing Home in Bastrop, LA, their owners and staff not only took excellent care of our mother but also treated her with affection and dignity. Their extra curricular and well planned activities gave mother a full and enjoyable life. We will forever be in your debt.
