Obituary of John Mayes

Memorial services for John Andrew Mayes, age 84 of Olla, Louisiana, will be held at a later date. John was born on June 21, 1929 in Hinton, LA to the union of his parents, James and Annie Pinkard Mayes and passed from this life on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at his home in Olla. Mr. Mayes was a mechanic and enjoyed working on engines of all types. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Gurthie Authers Mayes, and his siblings. Those left to cherish his memory are his step-daughter, Sherry Garner; granddaughter, Cheryl Shelton and husband, J.R.; grandson, Brian Dunn and wife, Tammy; great-grandchildren: Kayla Dunn, Kortney Dunn, Nathan Dunn and Sarah Shelton, and his special friends, Cathy and Paul Magee.
