Obituary of Jackie Adams

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Jackie Pope Adams of Missouri City, Texas and formerly of Columbia, Louisiana will be held 10:00 am Tuesday October 1, 2013 at the Columbia Hill Cemetery at Columbia, under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Jackie Pope Adams was born on November 15,1922 in Marion County, Mississippi; and passed from this life on September 28, 2013 at the Autumn Leaves of Riverstone Nursing Center in Missouri City, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Drue Adams in 2009 after sixty five years of marriage. She was employed by the City of Alexandria, LA for twenty five years and was named City Clerk when the Home Rule Charter was adopted. She also served on the Alexandria Zoning Commission. After retiring, she and Drue lived in Columbia, LA, Drue's hometown, for 21 years. They moved to Sugar Land, Texas in 2001 to be near their daughter and grandchildren. She continued to live there after Drue passed away until her death, at the age of 90 Left to cherish her memory: Her daughter, Judith Schnellhardt and husband Steve of Missouri City, Texas; her grandchildren, Jeff Schnellhardt and wife Christy, Peter Schnellhardt, and Suzanne Johnson and husband Tim; her great-grandchildren: Grayson Drue,Nora, and Emma Schnellhardt, and Piper Johnson.
