Obituary of James Michael "Mike" North

Funeral services for James Michael "Mike" North, age 62, of Urania, will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 5, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Olla with Bro. Johnnie Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at the Olla Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia and Saturday from 9:00 AM until service time at the church. Mike was born December 12, 1950 to James and Sue Dowdy North in Monroe and he passed from this life on October 3, 2013 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was a retired UPS driver. He was in the Air Force having served his country in Vietnam. He loved his grandchildren very much. He was preceded in death by his father: James North; brother: Rick North. He is survived by his wife of 25 years: Kay Duke North of Urania; son: Jamie North and his wife Aimee of West Monroe; three daughters: Lisa Simmons and her husband Charlie of West Monroe; Sarah Peppers and her husband Nathan of Olla; Lindsey Clement and her husband Walter of Olla; mother: Sue Dowdy North of West Monroe; brother: Mark North of West Monroe; twelve grandchildren: Megan, McKenzie, Adrieanne, Abby, Hill, Cooper, Jewels, Kaylin, Hallie, Leah, Brennan, and Caris. Pallbearers will be Nathan Peppers, Walter Clement, Alvin Spence, Blade Beaubouef, Mark Bradshaw, Wayne Corley, and Justin Beaubouef.
