Obituary of Melba Nation

Funeral services for Mrs. Melba Jean Nation age 67 of Grayson will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday October 29, 2013 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with the Rev. Dottie Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Monday October 28, 2013 at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 8:00 Pm. Melba Jean (Holley) Nation was born on April 1, 1946 at Pioneer, LA to the union of her parents Ernest Holley and Susie Effie (Franklin) Holley; and she passed from this life on Saturday October 26, 2013 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her husband L. C. Nation in 1989; by her daughter, Philiss Ann (Nation) Crockett, and by her brother David Holley. Survivors include her companion,William May of Grayson; three sons: John Allen Nation and wife Kimberly of Verda, LA; Ernest David Nation of Kelly, LA; and Daniel Earl Nation of Monroe; her daughter: Loretta Lynn Roberts of Calhoun, and her brother: Willie Ray Holley of Epps; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
