Obituary of Allen Atkinson

Funeral services for Allen Michael Atkinson, known by everyone as "Big Sexy" age 23, of Grayson will be held 1:00 PM Saturday from the sanctuary of Covenant Christian Worship Center in Columbia, with Brother Dean Love officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery at Hebert under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Friday November 15, 2013 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 Pm at the church located on Highway 4 East, Columbia. Allen Michael Atkinson was born at Monroe, LA on July 1, 1990 and passed from this life on Tuesday November 12, 2013 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Allen Michael was an extremely awesome guitarist as music was a major love of his life. He not only played but composed as well. He was extremely "Big Hearted", a loyal friend, and lived life to the fullest everyday enjoying every moment and they were the small but simple things in life that meant so much to him. He was loved by all who knew him, and leaves a void in the lives of those he leaves behind that will never be filled. Left to cherish his memory, his mother: Jo Ann Atkinson of Grayson, his father and step mother: Randy Malloy Grant and Theresa Grant of Grayson; his sisters: Shawna Miller and husband Brandon of Kelly, LA, Kacie Guinn and husband Chris of Clarks; his brothers: Lee Head and wife Samantha of West Monroe, Michael Head and wife Brittany of Bastrop, David Head of Grayson, his maternal grandparents: Joyce and Neal Williams of Grayson, and paternal grandparents: Sugar and Jake Sanders of Grayson. Pallbearers include Sam Smith, James Byrnes, Eric Burns,Aaron Jordan, Dillon Hefner, Randall Hudson, Michael Head, and Phillip McDonald. Honorary pallbearers include David Head and Brad Rutledge. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any planned memorials be made to the family or Riser Funeral Home to help cover the cost of funeral expenses.
