Obituary of Laura Pardue

Funeral services for Laura McClanahan Pardue, age 87 of Pomona, CA will be held at 10 AM Friday, November 22, 2013 from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Brian Rankin and Rev. Billy Lane McClanahan officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9 AM until time of service. Mrs. Pardue was born in Columbia, LA on November 10, 1925 and passed from this life on November 4, 2013 at her home surrounded by her family. Laura owned and operated an adult care facility for the developmentally disabled. She devoted her life to taking care of her "angels" and was known as "Mama Laura" to them. Laura was a one of a kind, special, strong woman. She will be greatly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, A.J. Pardue. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Beverly Moore and son, Gary Pardue. Three grandchildren: Jim Moore, Shirley Maas and Craig Pardue; eight great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and five sisters: Edna Godwin, Maxine Whittington, Gwen Brown, Margie Roberts and Vera Wood and four brothers: R.B. "Berlon" McClanahan, George McClanahan, Isaac McClanahan and Dan McClanahan. Pallbearers will be Bob Maas, Jason Maas, Marty Earnest, Randy Duchesne, Donnie Williams and Roger McClanahan.
