Obituary of Muriel Cobb Jackson

MURIEL ELAINE COBB JACKSON Muriel Elaine Jackson, 87, passed away peacefully on Friday December 27 surrounded by the love of her Lord, her family and her friends. She was born the youngest of three siblings to Harry Alexander and Beulah Roy Cobb in Clarks, Louisiana on January 21, 1926. She often spoke fondly of her childhood in Clarks, graduating Salutatorian of her high school class, and playing regional semi-pro basketball. She lost her first husband, Wayne C. Cruse, to a snipers bullet in France. Shortly after the war she married Hensel Walter Jackson and together they raised two sons. She was a huge sports fan, a staunch Southern Baptist, a great cook and a lifelong teacher of young children. A resident of Alvin, Texas for 50 years, she spent the last few years of her life in Marble Falls. Muriel was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, her sister Harrietta Corbin, brother Harold Cobb, niece Elaine Harris and nephew J.E. Steeley. She is survived by her two sons and their families including son Travis Harold Jackson MD and wife Linda of Winston-Salem, NC; their children Travis Aaron of Asheville, NC and Shanna Dawn of Atlanta, GA, their spouses Darcey and Betsy, and great grandchildren Shiloh Ever, Jaemisi, Navarro, Gray and Sam; Son Bruce Hartford Jackson and wife Ann of Marble Falls, TX, son Bruce Jr and wife Kristi of Leander, TX, daughters Carrie Michelle of Kingsland, TX and Courtney Elizabeth of Burnet, TX and great children Makenna, Peyton and Jason, nieces including Evelyn Cook, Jane Walker, Sue Kees, Lois Richardson, Wanda Smith, Joyce Lynn Holcomb, Kate Burnham and nephews David Corbin and Tracy Hinton, as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
