Obituary of William Gunn

Graveside services for William Bailey Gunn, age 84 of Columbia, LA will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2008 at the Forest Park/Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, TX with Rev. Bill Cole officiating under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Mr. Gunn was born on January 2, 1924 in Columbia to the union of Mack Neal and Irene Johnson Gunn and died Tuesday, May 27, 2008 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, LA He was a retired petroleum engineer with Shell Oil Company. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Marie Gunn. He was a member of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #164 and a veteran of World War II having served in the Army. Survivors include his wife: Bobbie Berry Gunn of Columbia, his daughter: Donna Marie Strawhorn and her husband: Neil of Vergas, MN, his step-daughter: Peggy Peyton and her husband: Lester of Jonesville, LA, his step-sons: Joe Ray and his wife: Tammy of Jena, Dexter Ray of Baton Rouge, LA, Jessie Ray and his wife: Lisa of Jena, LA and Ronnie Ray of Nebo, LA, his grandsons: Marcus Strawhorn and his wife: Sandy of Indianapolis, IN and Lucas Strawhorn of Las Vegas, NE, his great-grandsons: Bailey Strawhorn and Trigg Strawhorn both of Indianapolis, IN, his sisters: Ethel Mott of Hebert, LA, Maurine Smith of Grayson, LA, Barbara Stapleton of West Monroe, LA, Nadine Wachowski of Cataula, GA, Juanita Griffin of Hudson, Kansas and Frances Wylie of Kilbourne, LA, six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Pallbearers will be Neil Gunn, Jessie Ray, Joe Ray, Torey Ray and Ronnie Ray.
