Obituary of Arlene Shumaker Gilbert

Funeral services for Arlene Shumaker Gilbert, age 86, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 27, 2014 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bill Nash officiating. Russ Caughron will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Monday From 1:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Arlene was born May 22, 1927 to G.W. And Nannie Shumaker in Mississippi and she passed from this life on January 24, 2014 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. She was a housewife who was very outgoing and she never met a stranger. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Clemmie Luck and Earl Gilbert. She is survived by her son: George Luck and his wife Ursula of Panama City Beach, FL; sister Yvonne Austin of Choudrant; grandson: James Luck; six great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jeff Shumaker, James Shumaker, A.B. Strange, Sloan Wyles, Roland Garcia, Teddy Strange, and Farron McKee.
