Obituary of Dorothy Fay Finley

Funeral services for Dorothy Fay Stapleton Finley, age 79 of Clarks, will be held at 2 PM Friday, February 7, 2014 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bubba Tucker officiating and Lee Piercy delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Thursday evening at Riser Funeral in Columbia from 5 PM to 9 PM. The doors to the funeral home will be opened Friday morning at 8 AM until time of service for viewing. Mrs. Finley was born on November 25, 1934 in Corey, LA to the union of her parents, Willie Earl and Nolia Rowena Calhoun Stapleton and passed from this life on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe after a lengthy illness. Dorothy Fay held many titles in her life with various occupations. She was a loving, caring and kind mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Adams Finley; brother-in-law, Mickey Swett and two nieces: Jennifer Stapleton and Lisa Ross. Those left to cherish her memory are her three daughters: Linda "Tweety" Tarver and husband, Pat of West Monroe, Elizabeth "Sis" Weeks and husband, John of Grayson and Belinda "Bit" Taylor and husband, Kim of Olla; brothers: Cheslie Stapleton and wife, Myrtis of Kelly, Robert Stapleton and wife, Gay of Richmond, VA, Jerry Stapleton and wife, Linda of Clarks, Billy Stapleton and wife, Laverne of Columbia, Danny Stapleton and wife, Becky of Columbia, Jimmy Stapleton of Louiseville, KY and Bobby Stapleton and wife, Jeanette of Mangham; sisters: Joyce Swett of Hebert, Judy Ross and husband, Gene of Centerburg, OH and Carol "Laney" Hogg and husband, Gary of Lamesa, TX; grandchildren: Angel Piercy and husband, Lee, Erin Arrington and husband, Josh, Crystal Lee and husband, Chad, Adam Tarver and wife, Shelly, Josh Taylor and wife, Aimee, Jonathan Taylor and Dana Marie Taylor and companion, Nathan Carroll; great-grandchildren: Kyle Piercy, Madison Tharp, Jessy Barton, Piper Barton, Hayden Lee, Ian Lee, Weslee Piercy, Macy Lee, Luke Weeks, Corey Arrington, Noah Freeman, Jonas Taylor, Hailee Marie Taylor and Logan Tarver; special friends, Dewanna Smith and everyone at the Caldwell Parish Senior Center and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Josh Taylor, Kyle Piercy,Kaleb Carr, Piper Barton, Hayden Lee, Ian Lee, Weslee Piercy and Madison Tharp. Honorary pallbearers will be Luke Weeks, Corey Arrington, Noah Freeman and Jonathan Taylor.
