Obituary of Marcia Simmons

Funeral services for Marcia Simmons, age 76 of Grayson, will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at Pleasant Grove Church of God in Grayson with Rev. Floyd Duchesne and Rev. Aaron Ricks officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Visitation will be Monday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the church. Services are under the direction of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia. Marcia was born April 23, 1937 to Marshall and Ernie Stamper Harrelson in Grayson and she passed from this life on February 9, 2014 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. She was a retired dietician at Citizens Medical Center. She was a member Pleasant Grove Church in Grayson where she was a longtime secretary for the church. She was also a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband: Samuel Simmons; her parents; brother: Arthur Harrelson; sister: Barbara Harrelson. She is survived by three sons: Clint Simmons and his wife Sylvia of Grayson; Wade Simmons and his wife Kaythena of Grayson; Ralph Simmons of Grayson; brother: Austin Harrelson, Sr.; sister: Mildred Harrelson; grandchildren: Michelle DeLancey of Vixen; Bonnie Bell of Colorado; Stephanie Birdwell of Olla; Samantha Simmons of Monroe; Chris Bruce of Atlanta, LA; Andy Bruce of Olla; Dual Simmons of Grayson; Paige Simmons of College Station, TX; ten great-grandchildren; a host of friends.
