Obituary of Sr. Fontaine

Funeral services for Mr. Stephen Joseph Fontaine, Sr., age 67 of Urania, LA, will be held at 11 AM Monday, May 9, 2011 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla, LA. Interment will follow at Urania Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday evening at Riser Funeral Home in Olla, LA from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Fontaine was born on March 15, 1944 in Boston, MA to the union of Joseph and Kathleen Carroll Fontaine and passed from this life on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Touro Hospital in New Orleans. He worked as an electronic technician. He served in the US Navy and was a member of the VFW. Stephen was a generous man who had a big heart and a good sense of humor. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and driving his Jeep. He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson. Survivors include his wife, who he loved very much: Sue Mayes Fontaine of Urania, son; Stephen J. Fontaine, Jr. of Norwood, MA, three daughters: Lisa Settles of Woodstock, GA, Cheryl Fontaine of Holbrook, MA and Brenda Fontaine of Brockton, MA, step-daughter; Sandra Fernandez of Prairieville, LA, two sisters: Susan Fontaine of Tampa, FL and Lynn Fontaine of Brockton, MA, four grandchildren and three special friends: Kai Chen, Joseph Krupski and George Fopiana. Pallbearers will be Carroll Mayes, Jonathan Mareno, James Mayes, James Curtis Mayes, Charles Raspberry and David Mayes. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Krupski.
