Obituary of Nancy Holmes

Funeral services for Nancy Holmes, age 65 of Olla, will be held at 2 PM Sunday, March 23, 2014 from the sanctuary of Standard Baptist Church, Olla, LA with Bro. Shad Tibbs officiating. Interment will follow at Olla Cemetery, Olla, LA. Visitation will be Saturday evening at Riser Funeral Home, Olla, LA from 5 PM to 9 PM then again Sunday from 9 AM until 11 AM. Ms. Holmes was born in Olla, LA on September 25, 1948 to the union of Lawrence E. and Edith Yvonne (McBroom) Holmes and passed from this life on Wednesday, March 19, 2014. She worked at Hardtner Medical Center for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and nephew, Charles Holmes. Survivors include two brothers: Larry Holmes and wife, Hilma of New Iberia and Danny Holmes and wife, Amanda of Denton, TX; three sisters: Mary Thomas and husband, Buddy, Wanda Coleman and husband, Lowell both of Coushatta and Linda Weaver of Olla; special aunt, Jean Blazier; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews and her Hardtner Medical Center family. Pallbearers will be Andrew Volentine, Michael Volentine, Matthew Bailey, Corey Bailey, Jason Coleman, Paul Shelton, Sonny Ernst and Byron Guichet. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeffrey Coleman, Ken Volentine, Michael Gonzales, Jordan Humphries and Dustin Bailey.
