Obituary of Alton Theodore Kelly

Funeral services for Alton Theodore Kelly, age 60, born and raised in Olla, and was living in Winn Parish, will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, April 3, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Bro. Denver McBroom officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Beech Creek Cemetery in Olla. Alton was born December 5, 1953 to Otho and Vaudie Meredith Kelly in Urania and he passed from this life on March 31, 2014 at his sister's home in Deville. He was a retired Petty Officer from the United States Navy after serving 20 years having retired in July of 1992. Alton served on numerous ships overseas and was also stationed at the Recruit Training Command at Great Lakes, Illinois. He was also stationed in San Diego, California and was awarded numerous accommodations and medals in his career. At the time of his illness, he was an assistant manager at Mac's in Jena. He was preceded in death by his parents; nephew: Landon McClure. He is survived by his sister: Bessie McClure and her husband Buddy of Deville; nephew: Jason Williams and his wife Courtney and their children Chandler and Emilie Williams, all of Greenbriar, Arkansas; niece: Laurie McClure of Deville; numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be Jason Williams, James Williams, Denny Boyd, Trey Mallette, Matthew Mallette, and Jimmy Brooks.
