Obituary of Lucille Ellerbe

Graveside services for Lucille Fortenberry Ellerbe, age 91 of Columbia, LA will be held at 10 AM Friday, April 18, 2014 at Welcome Home Cemtery with Pastor Robbie Alford officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening, April 17, 2014, at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Ellerbe was born on October 8, 1922 in Winnsboro, LA to the union of her parents Tom and Jennie Polk Fortenberry and passed on to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her residence. Lucille retired as a cafeteria technician with the Caldwell Parish School System after 33 years of dutiful service. She was an awesome cook that enjoyed her garden and flowers. In earlier years she was active in the Caldwell Parish Council on Aging with their pottery class. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Claude Ellerbe; sons: Larry Ellerbe and Donnie Ellerbe; daughter-in-law, Katherine Ellerbe; brothers: Robert Fortenberry and J.T. Fortenberry and sisters: Mrytle Hilburn and Irene Caraway. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Gloria Hart and husband, Billy; son, Tommy Ellerbe and wife, Brenda; daughter-in-law, Kay Ellerbe; grandchildren: Misty Broussard, Tye Ellerbe and wife, Caroline, Shane Hart and wife, Barbara, Sloan Hart, Monica Coates and husband, Landry, Colby Ellerbe, Keith Ellerbe and wife, Lori, Kevin Ellerbe and wife, Holly, Dirk Ellerbe and wife, Bridget, Dan Ellerbe and wife, Theresa and Donna Holmes; special friends: Rosemary and Artis Thompson and Maria Franklin and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Shane Hart, Sloan Hart, Tye Ellerbe, Dan Ellerbe, Keith Ellerbe, Kevin Ellerbe, Landry Coates. Honorary pallbearers will be Dirk Ellerbe and Colby Ellerbe.
