Obituary of Eathel Smith
Funeral services for Mrs. Eathel Ann Smith, age 95, of Columbia and formerly of Jena will be held 10:00 am Wednesday April 30, 2014 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Kent Nugent and Rev. Robbie Alford officiating. Interment will follow in the Wood Land Cemetery at Jena. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday evening April 29, 2014 at the Riser Funeral Home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia.
Eathel Ann Smith was born on June 2, 1918 in Catahoula Parish, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Owens W. Ford and Bertha Mae Cassels Ford, and she passed from this life on Sunday April 27, 2014 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by her two husbands: Horace Wright and Ray Smith.
Left to cherish her memory are two sons: Owen W. Wright and wife Alyene of Hallsville, Texas and Gary Wright of Longview, Texas ; one grand son: Ted Wright of Longview, Texas; her nieces and nephews: Danny Nugent, Ken Nugent and wife Darlene, Nancy Nugent, Barbara Thompson, Cheryl Sanders, Brenda Fluitt and husband Roddyand numerous cousins, other extended family members, and friends. Mrs. Eathel was a wonderful loving wife and mother, aunt and friend, and she will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Pallbearers include: Danny Nugent, Ken Nugent, Chester McDougald,Lee Townsend, Heath Fluitt, and Roddy Fluitt.
