Obituary of Quinton Strickland
Funeral services for Quinton Uriah Strickland age 78 of Hebert will be held 10:00 am Thursday June 5, 2014 from the sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Lane McClanahan and Rev. Brian Rankin officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday June 4, 2014 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Quinton Uriah Strickland was born on February 17, 1936 at Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, the late James Robert Strickland and Pearl Ivess Davis Strickland, and he passed from this life on Tuesday June 3, 2014 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Alexandria following an extended illness. Mr. Strickland served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a retired truck driver with Manville Forest Products, and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sisters: Voncille Butler and Linda Nellene McCrea.
Left to cherish his memory his beloved wife: Alice Carson Strickland of Hebert; two sons: Jimmy Strickland and John Strickland both of Hebert; his grandson: Judson Strickland of Hebert; two brothers: James Hollis Strickland and Kenneth Bernard Strickland both of West Monroe; and his sister: Margenia Weed of Hebert.
Pallbearers include: Greg Black, Tim Mullenix,Wilbur Robinson, Brandon Vining, Roger Murphy,Joey Arbragast, Harris Clark, and Jimmy Strickland.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Veterans Administration Medical Center second floor staff, Dr. John Clemment, and Judy Walters.
