Obituary of Helen Laffoon

Funeral services for Helen Elizabeth Laffoon age 59 of Hebert will be held 10:00am Wednesday June 11, 2014 from the Columbia chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Rev. Lavelle Hatten officiating. Interment will follow in the Perot Cemetery near Columbia. Visitation will be on Tuesday June 10, 2014 at the Riser Funeral Home from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Helen Elizabeth Perot Laffoon was born on July 31, 1954 at Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, the late Dave Perot and Hazel Mae Sikes Perot and she passed from this life on Sunday June 8, 2014 at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers: Deloyd and Shelby Perot and by her sister: Marie Breland. Helen was a sitter and had helped so many people who were facing illness during very difficult times. She was loved by all who knew her and will be sorely missed. Left to cherish her memory: Her husband: Bernard Laffoon of Hebert; four daughters:Angela Brast of Columbia, Lisa McCoy of Liddieville, Jodie Thompson of Clarks, and Jessica Thompson of West Monroe; four brothers: Dave Perot Jr.of Columbia, Jerry Perot and wife Charleen of Hebert, Clifton Perot and wife Debbie of Olla, and Marty Perot and wife Deann of Columbia;her sisters: Judy Caraway and husband Gene of Hebert, Gloria Crawford and husband Wayne of Hebert, and Shirley Masters of Columbia; thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
