Obituary of Kathleen Ferrand

Funeral services for Kathleen Ferrand, age 84, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday, July 13, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastor Robbie Alford officiating. Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Kathleen was born August 10, 1929 to Lacy Guy and Bertha Paige Spears in Philadelphia, MS and she passed from this life on July 10, 2014 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Her former employers include St. Mary's in Clarks and the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. Her hobbies included reading, baking, rummage sales, and quilting. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Willie A. Ferrand; her parents; brother: Brudel Spears. Survivors include: two daughters: Barbara Jean Ratcliff and her husband Danny; Brenda Kay Ellerbe and her husband Tommy; two granddaughters: Laura Arnold and her husband David; Misty Ellerbe Broussard; grandson: Tommy Tye Ellerbe and his wife Caroline; great-grandchildren: Josh Arnold, Railey Ellerbe, Rhett Tye Ellerbe, Ava Broussard, and Emma Broussard; brothers and sisters: Eloise Suber, Francis "Slim" Spears, Harce Sam Spears, Faye Hagen, Floyd Spears, James Spears, and Billy Ray Spears; special family friend and caretaker: Ellen Dubois. Pallbearers will be Tommy Ellerbe, Tye Ellerbe, David Arnold, Josh Arnold, Danny Ratcliff, and Van Griffin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Rhett Tye Ellerbe.
