Obituary of Vera Rankin

Funeral services for Vera Garrett Rankin, age 92 of Columbia, will be held at 2 PM Thursday, August 28, 2014 from the sanctuary of Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Olla with Rev. Donnie Boney and Bro. Allen Hatten officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Olla from 11 AM until time of services on Thursday. Mrs. Rankin was born on November 17, 1921 to the union of Stewart and Fannie Holcomb Garrett and passed from this life on August 25, 2014 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rollie Rankin; son, Shelby Rankin; sister, Madie Linzy; brothers: Glen Garrett, Milton Garrett, James Garrett and Winston Garrett. Those left to cherish her memory are brothers: Charlie Garrett and wife, Jane of Madisonville, KY and Billy Garrett and wife, Pat of Nashville, AR; sisters: Hazel Cox of Glenwood, AR and Daisy Fuqua of Columbia, LA; grandhcildren: Nancy Bell and Sherri Rankin; great-grandchildren: Hannah Fannin, Molly Fannin and Morgan Weatherford; longtime friend, Louise Mills and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be members of her family.
