Obituary of James G. Esters

Funeral services for James G. Esters, age 71, of Olla, will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 29, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with Zackary Thacker officiating. Interment will follow at Georgetown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. James was born September 3, 1942 to T.L and Mae Taylor Esters in Rosefield and he passed from this life on August 27, 2014 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a mechanic for Louisiana Pacific for thirty one years. He was a Vietnam Veteran having served his country in the Army for three years. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a devoted father and grandfather and was the best husband in the world. He was preceded in death by his daughter: Jamie Lynn Esters; his parents; brother: Jerald Esters. He is survived by his wife of 48 years: Janet Bradford Esters of Olla; two daughters: Jaime Esters Brooks and her husband Stanley of Ball; Jessica LaShea Esters of Olla; eight grandchildren: Zack and his wife Meagan; Tyler, James Cody, Justice Kade, Zoie Destinee, Ayden Michael, Brodee Blaze, and Kennyn Reese.
