Obituary of Effie Roark
Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Lea Poole Roark, 82, of Enterprise, LA, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014, at New Ouachita Baptist Church, Enterprise LA. with Rev. Jeff Robinson and Rev. James King officiating. Interment to follow at Rosefield Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home.
Effie, a retired nurses aide, was born January 5, 1932 in Enterprise, LA and passed away in West Monroe, LA on August 29, 2014, following a lengthy illness. She was a member of the New Ouachita Baptist Church. She was a very loving, kind, and gentle mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a devoted Christian woman who shared the gospel of Jesus with everyone she came in contact with. Effie was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Curtis Roark, baby boy, Donnie Glenn, sisters; Vivian Sledge, Verda Chapman, Viva Aarons, and Mildred Morvan and brothers; David and H.L. "Pill" Poole.
Survivors include her 4 children; Curtis Roark and wife Deniece, Bonnie Mayes and husband Kenneth "Shine", Nathan Roark and wife Jackie, Deanna McKee and husband Jason; 10 grandchildren: Anissa Roark Young and husband Chris, Jana Roark Wedrall and husband Danny, Reggie Roark and wife Robyn, Mandy Mayes Barrett and husband Jason, Kenda Mayes Freer and husband Josh, Kurt Mayes and wife Hannah, Diana Roark Wade and husband Brian, Danielle Roark Denison and husband Heath, Jacob Roark, and Jenna McKee; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers: N.H. Poole and wife Ernie, Hershel Poole and wife Barbara; sisters: Jolene McGuffee and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and nephews.
