Obituary of Ouida Keenan

Funeral services for Mrs. Ouida Duckett Keenan, age 94 of Columbia, wil be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 18, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Rev. Ben McGehee officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Columbia, LA Visitation will be Thursday at Riser Funeral Home from 1 PM until time of service. Mrs. Keenan was born on August 1, 1920 in Riverton, LA to the union of Rickmond Lee Duckett and Maggie Fluitt Duckett and passed from this life on Monday, September 15, 2014 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia, LA. She was a homemaker that enjoyed many hobbies including sewing and reading. She was an avid gardener, which she canned and froze many of her fruits and vegetables. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, J. Huston Keenan; son, Adrian Keenan; sister, Roberta Rowland; three brothers: Aubrey Duckett, Melvin Duckett and Earl Duckett. Survivors include her son, Gary Keenan and wife, Sharon of Lakeland, FL; two grandchildren: Jeff Keenan and wife, Rhonda and John Keenan and four great-grandchildren: Kara Keenan, Kourtney Keenan, Teresa Keenan and Trace Keenan. Pallbearers will be Ricky Duckett, Lee Duckett, Jim Rowland, Earl Rowland, Hank Rowland and Nick Rowland.
