Obituary of James "Jim" Brooks

Funeral services for James "Jim" Brooks, age 72, of Tullos, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday,, October 6, 2014 at the Urania Pentecostal Church with Pastor Clay Hutto and Pastor Ken Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow at the Urania Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 until service time Monday at the church. Jim was born December 29, 1941 to Joe and Vallie Brooks in Montgomery, AL and he passed from this life on October 3, 2014 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania. He was retired from LaSalle Correctional Center after 8 years of work. He was a member of the Assembly of God in Jena. He was a Mason and he loved to play music and fish. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Melba Darnell and Betty Cliff. He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Sue Brooks of Tullos; three sons: Robert Brooks and his wife Mary of Atlanta; Roger Bordelon of Jena; Paul Bordelon and his wife Ann of Oklahoma; two daughters: Patricia Levins and her husband Larry of Port St. Joe, FL; Sharon Erwin and her husband Bobby of Urania; daughter-in-law: Delores Bryant; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Robert Brooks, Matthew Brooks, Jeff Jones, Greg Jones, Lance Lumas and Billy Clark. Honorary Pallbearer will be Brandon Crafts.
