Obituary of Jewel Miles

Funeral services for Jewel Weaver Miles, age 89 of Olla, LA will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, November 5, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Olla, LA with Rev. Johnnie Phillips officiating and Bro. Warren Maxwell delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow at New Union Baptist Cemetery, Tullos, LA. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Riser Funeral Home in Olla from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Miles was born on August 24, 1925 in Haynesville, LA to the union of her parents: Thomas "Monk" and Nellie B. Johnson Weaver and went to her Heavenly home on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Hardtner Medical Center in Urania, LA. Jewel was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter and friend. Her optimism, generosity towards others and sense of humor were well known in the community. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Olla. She is preceded in death by her parents; previous husband, Delwood Frayne Miles; son, Perry Michael Miles and two brothers: Randall Ray Weaver and Robert Allen Weaver. Those left to cherish her memory are her son, David F. Miles and wife, Efralin of Olla; three daughters: Jerry Nell Milton and husband, Donal of Olla, Carolyn Miles and partner, Mary Jane McNeely of Palestine, TX and Marilyn Loftus and husband, Lynn of Olla; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Imogene Weaver and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be John Milton, Justin Martin, Juan Deanda, Bryce Stott, Rickey Stott and Jeremy Ross. Honorary pallbearer will be Kendall Rogers.
