Obituary of James "Bill" Campbell

Funeral services for James "Bill" Campbell, age 82, of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Pastor Kristy Dunn and Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. Bill was born April 7, 1932 to William Marvin and Dillie McHenry Campbell in Columbia and he passed from this life on November 17, 2014 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. He was a hard worker who worked as a dozer operator and foreman on the pipeline. He was a member of the local 406 Operater's Union for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his wife: Amy "Ricka" Knight Campbell and wife Grace Brister Johnson Campbell; son: David Carlisle; numerous brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son: Buck Carlisle and his wife Tammy of Grayson; three daughters: Renee Johnson of Grayson; Sheila Perot of Longview, TX; Debbie Sanderfer and her husband Ted of Corpus Christi, TX; brother: Bennie Campbell and his wife Joyce of Grayson; sister: Lillie Mae Bratton and her husband Buster of Minden; grandchildren: Chris, Kyle, and Ricka Mercer; Damon and Dasha Perot; Byron and Misty Sanderfer; Jennifer Mayes great-grandchildren: Caine and Collin Mercer; Makaela Hill, Olivia Waldrop, Kade, Kale, and Makayla Perot; Brody and Brady Sanderfer; Carson Mayes; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brian Keith Girod, James Allen Girod, Jeff Shumaker, Ronald Bailes, A.B. Strange, and Charlie Lipscomb. Honorary Pallbearers will be Millard Girod, Bobby Sellers, and Joe Bennett.
