Obituary of Willie Jacobs

Funeral services for Mr.W.L. "Dub" Jacobs, age 86 of Hebert will be held 2PM Thursday October 30, 2008 from the Columbia Church of Christ with Sam Sitters & Drew Keahey officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Cemetery with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. The Jacobs Family will receive visitors on Wednesday evening from 4PM until 9 PM at the Columbia Church of Christ located on Highway 4 East. Willie Lavon Jacobs was born on April 21, 1922 at Huttig, Arkansas to the union of his parents , the late George & Bessie Reppond Jacobs. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son William "Dubby" Jacobs, and a brother Herman Jacobs. Known to everyone as "Dub , he served in World War II on the USS Pennsylvania, was a salesman for Washington Manufacturing, and was the Vice President of the Hebert Fire Department. Survivors include his wife of sixty years Erselle Tullos Jacobs, his son: Johnny B. Jacobs and wife Kathy of Booneville, Ark. His daughters: Lavon J. Beckley of Monroe and Bonnie Hope DeHaven and her husband Larry of Benton, Arizona. His grandchildren: Christina Blaschke and her husband Ben of Booneville,AR, Corie Beth Jacobs of Booneville,AR, Brad Michael Beckley, of Columbia,La. , Kyle Dehaven, of Benton, Arizona, and Allyson DeHaven OF Benton, Arizona. His Sister: Joyce Pruitt of Monroe,La. His brothers: George Jacobs and wife Nelda of Monroe, Adrain "Cooter" Jacobs and wife Elizabeth of Monroe. Don Jacobs and wife Edy of Satellite Beach, FL and Jerral Jacobs and wife Glenda of Monroe, and a host of nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Mcilwain, Gerry McIlwain, Ronnie McIlwain, Mark McIlwain, Brad Tullos, and Zach Keahey.
