Obituary of Jessie Mae Sanders

Graveside funeral services for Jessie Mae Barfield Sanders age 89 of Clarks will be held 1:00 pm Friday December 26, 2014 at the Welcome Home Cemetery at Grayson. Rev. Jack McKeithen will officiate the services which are under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Friday from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm at the funeral home in Columbia. Jessie Mae Sanders was born on March 27, 1925 here in Caldwell Parish to the union of her parents James Riley Volentine and Vidalia Pearl Wilks Volentine, and she passed from this life on Wednesday December 24, 2014 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her two husbands: James Alvin Barfield and Cecil Sanders; and by two sons: Bart Barfield and James Riley "Catfish" Barfield, and by her parents. Left to cherish her memory: two sons: James Willie Barfield and wife Joy of Fort Worth, Texas, and Donald Barfield and wife Edna of Arlington, Texas; four daughters: Alva Hall of Clarks, Bonnie Scott and husband Jack of Choudrant, Carolyn Parker of Clarks, and Christina Jordan and husband Wayne of Copenhagen; ten grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren, and her sister Pearl Volentine Cole.
