Obituary of Katherine Harris Winsett

Funeral services for Katherine Harris Winsett age 94, of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 5, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Bro. Josh Caldwell and Bro. Warren Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Old Bethel Cemetery in Clarks. Katherine was born January 4, 1920 to Willard and Clara Sterns Harris in Clarks and she passed from this life on January 1, 2015 at her residence in Columbia. She was employed and retired from Jackson Madison County Hospital in Jackson, TN where she worked as a Medical records librarian. She was a career person who was very responsible. She was kindhearted and loved her family very much. She was a member of Columbia Heights Baptist Church. She was very good to her mother, brother, and nephews. Her family had a lot of respect for her. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Winsett; her parents; two brothers: Arvil Gerald Harris and Denva Lee Harris. She is survived by 2 nephews: Denva Harris and wife, Glenda; Arvil Jeffery Harris and wife, Angela; great nieces and nephews: Deborah Moore, Chuck Harris, Meghan Duckett and her husband, Joseph, and Tyler Harris; great-great nieces and nephews: Caleb Moore, Hannah Moore, Chloe Haywood and Noah Duckett. Pallbearers will be: Chuck Harris, Thomas Haywood, Caleb Moore, Scott Meredith, Joseph Duckett, and Steve May.
