Obituary of Dorothy Fortado

Dorothy Argus Fortado passed from this life on Tuesday January 6, 2015 at her residence following a sudden illness. She was born on June 13, 1927 in New Orleans, and she resided there until Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city in 2005. She grew to love North Louisiana and eventually found it to be home. She was preceded in death by her husband Gus Fortado, by two daughters: Linda Barcellona and Bonnie King; by her granddaughter, Juliette Biewer and grandson, James Barcellona. She is survived by her grandchildren: Michelle Barcellona, Bruce Biewer, Jason Barcellona, William Gossett, and Kassi King. Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2015 at the Fellowship Baptist Church, west of Columbia. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 2:00 PM until time of service.
