Obituary of James Weems

Funeral services for James E. "Jimmy" Weems, age 51 of Columbia, will be held at 2 PM Monday, January 12, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA with Bro. Buford Brady officiating. Interment will follow at Etier Cemetery, Columbia, LA. Visitation will be Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 5 PM to 8 PM at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA. Mr. Weems was born on August 2, 1963 in Lawton, OK to the union of his parents, Charles Ray "Jack" Weems and Betty Jean Hill and passed surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, January 9, 2015 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center, West Monroe, LA. Jimmy worked many years as a Radiologist Technician and many years as a pipeliner. He was an avid sportsman hunting many types of game. He enjoyed coin collecting, spending time with his family and attending goat shows with one of his daughters. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Mike Weems. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Cheryl Weems; two daughters: Maranda Espinosa and husband, Jose and Krista Weems and fiance, Philip Drummond all of Columbia; brothers: Jacky Ray Weems and wife, Deborah of Crowville, Scott Weems and wife, Shannon of Swartz and Paul Weems of Salt Lake City, UT; granddaughter, Marina Adele Espinosa and special friends, Parson and Tammie Belgard. Pallbearers will be Parson Belgard, Jacky Weems, Steve Mullican, Barron Brady, Billy Mock, Mark London, Philip Drummond and Scotty Weatherly. Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Copeland.
