Obituary of Annie Thomas

Funeral services for Mrs. Annie Mae Thomas age 93 of Grayson will be held 10AM Wed. Nov. 19, 2008 from the Columbia Chapel of Riser Funeral Home with Betsy Honeycutt officiating. Leta may will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Old Union Cemetery at Grayson. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5PM until 8PM at the funeral home. Annie Mae West Thomas was born on April 12, 1915 at Cottonplant, La. to the union of her parents the late Iley Wilson West & Anna Lee Gregory West . She was the youngest of ten children. She passed from this life on Sunday Nov. 16, 2008 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by by her two husbands Melton May and Bowen Thomas . She was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church. Survivors include-Her son-Billy Joe May of Grayson. Two daughters-Sandy Murphy & husband Cliff, and Marie Childress and husband Kenneth all of Grayson. Her Grandchildren- Keith Childress and wife Brooke of Olla. Sheree Prince & husband Jeremy of Olla. Jenni Reitzell and husband John,Jr. of Old Bethel,Melton May and Shawn May both of Grayson. Her Great Grandchildren-Celina Childress, Ethan & Tyler Reitzell, Bly and Addison Prince, Kade Bradford, and Derek Barton. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Prince, Keith Childress, Euel West, Melton May, Jerry Duff, and John Reitzell, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include Bob McIlwain,Ellis Bratton, and Eloy Washer.
