Obituary of Lowell Brannen
Lowell A. Brannen, 72, peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, January 19, 2015 at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN, surrounded by his loving family. He and his lovely wife, Janis have been residents of Cleveland since 2002. He is a 1976 graduate of Lee University, received his Masters of Divinity in 1997 from Logos Graduate School in Jacksonville, Florida, and has been an ordained bishop in the Church of God for over 45 years, where, as a pastor he has touched countless hearts and lives in Louisiana, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia.
Lowell was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. His genuinely caring and encouraging spirit, his positive attitude, and his deep commitment to his service in the Kingdom of God had an impact on this world that can never be expressed in words.
He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Alton Brannen and his brother, Fred Alton Brannen.
Lowell is survived by his wife Janis; his mother, Bonnie Belle Brannen of Cleveland; his son Stephen Brannen and wife, Rachel of Colorado Springs, CO, their daughters Emma and Abigail; his daughter Tammy Brannen of West Monroe, Louisiana, her daughter, Jacie Paul and son, Tyler Paul of Fort Worth, Texas; his daughter Jennifer Baldridge and her husband, Bill Baldridge of West Monroe, their son Gabriel; his son Jonathan Brannen and his wife, Kristin of Chattanooga, and their daughter, Sophia and son, Liam.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at The International House of Prayer at Woolen Lake, formerly the Woolen Lake Church of God in Hebert, Louisiana. He will be laid to rest at the Woolen Lake Church of God Cemetery. The Berean Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the church prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Church of God World Missions, Project #010-0801-235, P.O. Box 8016, Cleveland, TN 37320.
