Obituary of Mavis Bratton Fluitt

Funeral services for Mavis Bratton Fluitt, age 87, of Columbia, will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Bobby McGuire officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Little Star Cemetery in Kelly. Mavis was born March 24, 1927 to Edna O'Brien and John Bratton in Kelly and she passed from this life on January 26, 2015 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. She was preceded in death by her husband: Sam Fluitt; her parents: Edna O' Brien and John Bratton; daughter: Pamela E. Bratton; three sisters: Dorothy Simmons, Helen Mills, and Bobbie Smith. She is survived by three sons: Clifton Catlin and his wife Annie of Marion; George Catlin of Columbia; Ace Catlin and his wife Tracy of Kelly; four daughters: Melbia Catlin of West Monroe; Clara Mason and her husband Derrell of Spearsville; Violet Cox of Tullos; Pearl Burch and her husband Mickey of Columbia; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jerimiah Liles, John Grimm, Butch Hardwick, Larry Joe Hardwick, James Perry, and John Cox. Honorary Pallbearer will be James Donald Morrison.
