Obituary of Paul "Spanky" Black

Funeral services for Paul Edward "Spanky" Black, age 33 of Columbia, will be held at 1 PM Monday, March 30, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Bro. Todd Whittington officiating. Interment will follow at Old Hebron Cemetery, Sikes, LA. Visitation will be Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, La from 5 PM to 9 PM. Paul was born on September 3, 1981 in Columbia, LA and passed from this life on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at University Health in Shreveport, LA. He was a member of Hebron Baptist Church. He had many hobbies including: fishing, riding motorcycles, electronics and horses. But, he enjoyed being with his children and family most of all. He was preceded in death by his birth mother, Dameta Black; uncle, Paul Edward Black; maternal grandparents: Doc and Vera Martin and Amos and Susie Black and paternal grandfather, Earl Varnell. Those left to cherish his memory are his fiance, Katy Volentine; parents: Paul and Jackie Black; sons: Cameron Black, Ashton Black, Ethan Black, Josiah Black and Jaxson Black; daughters: Makenzie Black, Ava Mae Black, Kally Volentine and Riley Volentine; brothers: Craig Black and wife, Teri Ann, Mark Black and wife, Kristy, Forrest Nelson and Cody Varnell; sister, Ashley Varnell; in-laws to be, Farrell and Rhonda Semmes; his second mothers, Allison Quaid and Tina Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jarrod Crain, Kesey Perron, Anthony Nolan, Darrell Davis, Forrest Nelson, Cole Black, Jacob Black, Brad Parker, Josh Bradley and Zach Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Beaux Smith, Jaxson Black, Cameron Black, Eli Black, Gunner Black and Nate Cook.
