Obituary of Archie Lloyd Williams

Archie Lloyd Williams, 77 years of age, of Columbia, LA passed away Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia, LA. A celebration of life service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, 4/7/2015 at Crossroads Baptist Church, 7025 Hwy 126 West, Grayson, LA (4 miles west of Grayson). Bro Shane Duke and Bro. Duane Moreno will be officiating. Burial will follow at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery. Family Night / Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, 4/6/2015 at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia, LA. Archie Lloyd was born March 24, 1938 in Columbia, LA to James Edgar and Hester (Kiphart) Williams. He attended Columbia High School through 1956. On November 15, 1963 he married Betty McGuire his loving and caring wife of 51 years. He was a hardworking local government official serving on the Caldwell Parish Police Jury and also a retiree from Flint Ink where he worked for 27 years. He was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church and a long time member / officer in the local chapter of the Lions Club. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved working in the public with the local people of Caldwell Parish, raising vegetable gardens at home, and sporting events with his children and grandchildren. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Betty Williams of Columbia, LA; daughters: Christie Ellis and her husband, Bobby of West Monroe, LA; Tammy Genusa and her husband, Steve of Flint, TX; Jill Cooley and her husband, Dusty of Grayson, LA; son, Steve Williams and his wife, Donna of Sherman, TX; grandchildren: Hannah McCarty and her husband, Shelby, Hillary Stokes and her husband, Joe, Nathan Genusa, Maria Genusa, Dakota Cooley, and Caleb Cooley; great grandchildren Jonah McCarty, Myla McCarty, and Eva McCarty. He has one surviving sister Opal Meche and her husband, John of Ferriday, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, and 3 brothers. Pallbearers will be George Mullenix, Nathan Genusa, Joe Stokes, Shelby McCarty, Dusty Cooley, Terry Cooley, Flukie Braddock, and Kenny Finley. Honorary pallbearers will be Manuel Escalon, James Strange, the Caldwell Parish Police Jury, and the Columbia Lions Club.
