Obituary of Jerry Starr

Funeral services for Jerry Lynn Starr, age 53 of Monroe, will be held at 10 AM Monday, April 20, 2015 from the sanctuary of Grace Christian Mission, Columbia, with Bro. Ivy Dalton Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Columbia Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 19, 2015 at Grace Christian Mission from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mr. Starr was born on April 12, 1962 in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents and passed away at University Health Center, Shreveport, LA on April 16, 2015. He was a mechanic who enjoyed outdoor activities, including fishing, bar-be-ques and working on old cars. He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary Virginia Starr; daughter, Jaime Starr and brother, M.W. Starr. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sarah Davis Starr; father, Ray Starr; daughter, Jesica Starr and fiance, Kenny Davis; son, Jerrime Starr; two brothers: Waylon Starr and wife, Angie and Jimmy Ray Platt; two sisters: Connie Swanner and husband, David and Terri Langley and husband, Darrell and grandson, Mason Davis. Pallbearers will be T.J. Langley, Joshua Langley, Michael Easterling, Tyler Cupples, Jonathan Heyl and Kenny Davis.
