Obituary of Patsy Babin

Funeral services for Patsy Lou Starnes Babin, age 79, of Urania will be held 11:00 am Friday May 22, 2015 from the sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Urania with Rev. Bo Prather officiating. Interment will follow in the Chickasaw Cemetery east of Olla. Visitation will be on Thursday May 21, 2015 at the church from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Patsy Lou Starnes Babin was born on November 9, 1935 at Harrisonburg, Louisiana to the union of her parents John Wesley Starnes and Lou Ella Holloway Starnes. She passed from this life on Tuesday May 19, 2015 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew Paul Babin, Sr and was an active member of First Baptist Church, Urania. She was an extremely dedicated employee of the Dixie Center in Olla for many years before her health deteriorated to the point she could no longer work. Other loves in her life included cooking for her family and friends and Pekino. Left to cherish her memory her son: Andrew Paul Babin,Jr. and his friend Audry Ellender of Houma, LA; four daughters: Andrea Sherman and husband Greg of Seabeck, Washington, Patti Evans of Urania, Marcie Bray and husband Markus of Southhaven, Mississippi, and January Coleman of Urania; two brothers: J.L. Starnes and wife Sally of Jena and P.W. Starnes of Texas; her sister: Wanna Mae Piper of Owensboro, Kentucky; her beloved grandchildren: John Babin, Jennifer Ferris, Richard Camper, Janise Sherman, Rikki Evans, Hannah Coleman, Kassidy Bray, Heather Bumpous; and eight great-grandchildren. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Camper, David Baynes, James Coleman, Greg Sherman, Andrew Babin, Jr., and Trent Bordelon. In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the Urania First Baptist Church Building Fund, Urania, LA.
