Obituary of Sybil Ballard

Funeral services for Sybil McHenry Ballard, 77, of Clarks will be held 10:00 am Thursday June 11, 2015 from the sanctuary of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Clarks with Bro. Stephen Laughlin officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Bethel Cemetery with services under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday June 10, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Sybil was born May 30, 1938 at Kelly, LA and passed from this life on June 8, 2015 at her home in Clarks. Sybil was a housewife who devoted her life to the care and loving of her family. Sybil was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, her parents Walter and Ida McHenry and her friend, Elmos Ray Franklin. Survivors include her five sons and their families, Ray Ballard of Clarks, Clayton Ballard of Columbia, daughter-in-law Cindy Ballard of Columbia, Seburn and Melinda Ballard of Grayson, Roger and Phyllis Ballard of Columbia, and Glen and Nikki Ballard of Navarre, FL; 14 grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Sisters: Francis Roselle and husband Buddy of Fort Bragg, CA, Emma Lou Grant of Orlando, FL; her brother: Herschel McHenry and wife Barbara of Rocky Branch, LA; sisters-in-law: Betty Ballard of Patterson, LA and Billie Ruth Gaskill and husband Lorenzo of Houston, TX; along with numerous other relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers are Mary Taylor, Wanda Smith, Lois Richardson, Lavelle Ainsworth, Bill Taylor, Curtis Richardson and Glen Ainsworth.
