Obituary of Mary Estis

Services for Mrs. Mary Anne Aplin Estis, age 75 of Olla, will be 1 PM Friday, January 23, 2009 from the sanctuary of Pinehill Baptist Church in Olla with Bro. David McGuffee officiating. Interment will follow in Pinehill Cemetery in Olla. Visitation will be 5 PM to 9 PM Thursday, January 22, 2009 at Pinehill Baptist Church in Olla. Mrs. Estis was born on March 24, 1933 in Jonesville to the union of Perry Holly and Lillie Mae Smith Aplin and passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Canon Hospice Care in Jefferson. Mary Anne was a member of Pinehill Baptist Church in Olla. She held several jobs through her life, but retired as a CNA with Haven Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Everette "Pat" Estis, her daughter; Danita Kaye Estis and her two sisters; Oressa Poole and Merlene Reeves. Survivors include her three sons; Sherwin L. "Buddy" Estis and wife, Susie of Olla, Charles E. Estis of Haughton and Larry W. Estis and wife, Elaine of Olla, brother; Perry Holly Aplin, Jr. and wife, Carol of Baton Rouge, sister; Earlene Huff and husband, Albert of Harrisonburg, six grandchildren; Chad Estis, Shane McDonald, Dustin Estis, Stacey Estis, Amy Estis and Patrick Estis, six great grandchildren and special friends; Mr. and Mrs. Leon Etheridge, Irene Aycock, Selena Roberts and Onita McGuffee. Pallbearers will be Chad Estis, Mike Estis, Keith Huff, Eric Huff, Joey Reeves and Glenn Davis. Honorary pallbearer will be Deryl Price.
