Obituary of JT Thompson

Funeral services for JT Thompson, age 83, of Kelly, will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 30, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla with brother E.R. Johnson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson. JT was born October 19, 1931 to the union of Eugene and Myrtle Thompson in Montgomery, LA and he passed from this life on June 27, 2015 at Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He spent 2 years in the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict. He was a hard working man that tried to help everyone he could. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Richard Beard. He is survived by his brother: Gene Thompson and wife, Ann of Vidalia; special friend: Ethel Sweet; 4 nieces: Sherrill Byrd, Susie Ater, Mary Ann Fuentes, and Holli Gene Mangin. Pallbearers will be Richard Minninger, Curtis McNaughton, James McNaughton, Jimmy Lane Bradford, Deaumond Tarver, and Levi Cruse. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kent Kettin, Charles Mabou, Benny Byargeon,and David Sharp.
