Obituary of Iris Rogers

Funeral services for Iris Reyes Rogers, age 77 of Grayson, will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia with Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Riser Funeral Home, Columbia from 5 PM to 8 PM. Mrs. Rogers was born on July 11, 1937 in Willits, CA to the union of her parents, Arthur Luther Reyes and Polly Caroline Wilburn Reyes and passed from this life on June 27, 2015 at Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, LA. Iris had been retired from a career as a licensed practical nurse. She had practiced in several states. Her travels also included residing with her husband on overseas locations. She was a talented seamstress who also enjoyed cooking, multiple crafts and playing her piano. She is preceded in death by her parents and four brothers: Velden Reyes, Milton Reyes, Darrell Reyes and Lanny Reyes. Survivors include her husband of 61 years; Horace Rogers; son, Ronnie Rogers and wife, Mary; two grandsons: Lucas Rogers and Thomas Rogers and wife, Elizabeth, one great-grandson, Ethan Rogers; her twin sister, Ardis Walker and numerous nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be Lucas Rogers, Thomas Rogers, Bill Richmond, Tim Richmond, Dwight Rogers and Jack Tomalewicz.
